Taisan (Filipino Chiffon Cake)

4/03/2016

Ever been to a Goldilocks store?  You most probably have seen a loaf enveloped in a golden crust, topped with butter, sugar and cheese.  You most probably caved in and bought one.  Or two.  You most probably couldn't wait til you get home and enjoy a slice or even finish the entire thing.

Coffee can help you down all that goodness.  They are a perfect pair, believe me.

And that's what we're making today, folks!  Taisan a la Goldi's!

Cassava Cake

2/16/2016

I never ever thought I'd be able to make cassava cake in my life.  Ever.  But here we are and we're about to talk about it.

How would I describe cassava cake to someone who has never tried it?

One-Dish Baked Garlic Chicken

9/26/2015

When a recipe is too easy, I immediately expect something will go wrong with it.  Like it won't taste any good.  But I can be pessimistic about almost everything.  How sad, huh?

Pessimist or not, this one-dish meal won't fail you.  Ever.

Creamy Chicken Soup

This one is going to be for those days when you want something hearty and remind you of all that is good in the world.

Because it is that good.

Ahh just the sight of this simple noodle soup makes me happy.

Champorado (Chocolate Rice Porridge)!

Everyone has their favorite childhood food.

This one right here is my ultimate favorite.

The sweetened condensed milk-drawn flower included.

One cloudy day, we decided to go to Liliw, Laguna and I'd like to share a few photos I took that day!

Welcoming 2015 in Baguio!

1/04/2015

Hello, dear one.  It has been way too long since my last post where I told you about how I found and eventually fell for this lovely and easy orange cake.

I know, I know. Neglecting one's infant blog for more than a month is just plain unacceptable!  How could I?!

It's just that come the month of December things start to reach ultra cray level and I had to:
 - meet deadlines and make sure everything is A-OK at work before the vacation starts
 - buy/bake gifts for the lovely people in my life
 - plan my outfits
 - schedule a get-together with friends (I got to try kimchi rice for the first time!)
 - help at the kitchen (which also translates to being a taste tester)
 - pack for the trip to Baguio!
